This ground mounted PV array was installed in a field out of view of a detached rural house. The array is connected via a 120m buried cable to the main distribution board in a utility room. We prepared and submitted a planning application on behalf of the client to gain permission for siting the array.

The array consists of 24 JA Solar 275 Wp modules connected in 2 strings to a single-phase Solis inverter at the house by a 120m 4-core SWA cable. The client preferred a low profile renusol variosol mounting system with the modules arranged in 2 rows of 12.

We used an RT20 trencher to excavate the trench for the cable to a depth of 0.75m. This created a very narrow trench which helped to minimise disruption to the garden and reduced the amount of soil that needed to be dispersed.
