This single storey new build has been designed and constructed to a high
standard of energy efficiency. It uses an 8kW NIBE F2040 air source heat
pump (ASHP) to maintain comfort and to minimise ongoing fuel costs.
The heat pump supplies a 210 litre domestic hot water cylinder and
underfloor heating zones controlled by thermostats in each room. To
achieve enhanced operating efficiency the system is weather compensated,
which ensures that the flow temperature output by the heat pump is
adjusted to match the outdoor temperature. The NIBE Uplink facility
provides remote monitoring which enables us to provide enhanced
technical support.
Prior to installation the neighbours had expressed their concern about the
potential for noise disturbance when relaxing on their patio. Since it has
been in service they have agreed that the heat pump is very quiet and they
cannot hear it when is operating.
